Take An Easy Online Coaching Course
Each junior team requires a coach and helpers drawn from the team's parent group. Informed parents help create great cricket experiences. Whether you're coaching Juniors, Blast or stepping into helping the team for the first time, Cricket Australia provides resources to support parents and help develop their confidence to assist at training and game day. The courses are FREE and we encourage all parents to complete at least one. It takes less than an hour.

Learn To Score
Scoring for Junior Cricket is via the electronic PlayHQ app. for all age groups except 10s and Blast. Tablets are used to score the games and require internet for live scoring. It is important several people in your child's team are familiar with scoring. We have provided some helpful links below to get you up to speed. Parents will need to know how to score as part of our responsibilities to the competition. A club login will be provided to all teams.

Understand the Equipment
Our 12s, 14s and 16s all play hard-ball cricket, which means there are several pieces of protective equipment that players must wear when batting, both at games and training:
Helmet, Batting gloves, Batting pads and Bat. Additional protection such as a box protector and thigh pad is also recommended.
Our 10s players use a modified ball rather than a hard cricket ball, but they're encouraged to use the same protective equipment to build good habits and confidence from an early age. A kit will be available if you do not have gear yet.
Blast participants don't need any cricket equipment at all.
